It’s funny how you teach and the video is the lowest video quality!

@chompychomps I thought this while watching a video earlier. And decided to look into using film. Digital is great but film is old school knowledge at its best.

@crankbuddy I guess his plan to become rich off youtube videos bombed.

hey if you take two digi cams & the two lens feed into one back screen instead of separately would that give the cam depth perception? i mean it already has things like facial recognition & auto adjustment for lighting & darkness

Fair enough. Perhaps I did project more into your motive than was actually there. Having said that, this video is dedicated to advice for compact cameras – so suggesting that people “use a fash off to the side a bit to avoid red eye.” may have been pushing it. ;)

chompychomps on March 28, 2011 at 5:43 am.

Who said anything about “learning the advances techniques of computer manipulation?” You did, not I. Therefore, we have now thoroughly established that I was complaining only about this poor advice about red eye and nothing else at this point. :)

Intiom on March 28, 2011 at 6:42 am.

Learning the advanced techniques of computer manipulation is hardly “dumbing-down”. Certainly, it is useful to retain the traditional knowledge of positioning extra flashes and so on, but there are times when knowing how to use Photoshop or Gimp to make an image better than the camera possibly could have, requires a great deal of imagination and skill.

chompychomps on March 28, 2011 at 7:41 am.

Man, resorting to computer manipulation to correct the problem of red eye? That’s what is happening to photography in this “digital era;” we are dumbing-down our skills. Oh, use a fash off to the side a bit to avoid red eye.

good tips but found the music to be very distracting

actually red eye is caused by the flash being reflected off of the retena which is the red bit at the verry back of your eye
